Kicking Off the 2025 School Year with Power & Purpose
This video captures how The Collective Identity Mentoring launched our biggest season yet. We began the 2025 school year with excitement and intention—welcoming new mentees, reconnecting with returning sisters, and celebrating a major milestone: becoming an officially recognized Registered Student Organization (RSO) at the University of Southern California. With this recognition, we’ve expanded our reach and deepened our impact. From sisterhood circles to curated experiences, witness how we build community, confidence, and unapologetic Black girl brilliance, one season at a time.
Closing Out 2024 with Celebration, Community & New ChaptersWe wrapped the 2024 school year at The Collective Identity Mentoring by announcing our first-ever Student Executive Leadership Board, celebrating Helen stepping into her 20s, and honoring Nicole’s graduation with her master’s degree from Pepperdine. Surrounded by mentors, mentees, and the entire TCI family at our year-end luncheon, the room overflowed with love, pride, and purpose. Black girl magic was abound as we reflected on a year of transformation and looked ahead to what’s next.
Welcome Back, Family.
Our 2025 school year kicked off with our signature Confab—full of love, laughter, and powerful intention. From new faces to familiar ones, we came together to realign, reflect, and remind each other who we are. Here’s to another year of Black girl brilliance, bold dreams, and building together.
From the Studio Audience to the Studio Lot—A Day of Black Girl Joy & Media Magic
For the second time, The Collective Identity Mentoring was invited to be part of The Jennifer Hudson Show and this time, we brought even more of our girls to witness Black excellence in action. The day didn’t end there. Thanks to a generous gift, our mentees were treated to a private Warner Bros. Studio Tour where they stepped behind the scenes of Hollywood magic. From exploring iconic sets to imagining their own names in lights, the experience was unforgettable. Moments like these remind us just how powerful representation, access, and joy can be.

Our Core Values

The Four Agreements
At The Collective Identity Mentoring, we believe one cannot form a healthy identity without personal freedom. The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom is a book written by Don Miguel Ruiz. It's based on ancient Toltec (Indigenous people of Mexico) wisdom and provides insights into overcoming self-limiting beliefs. A transformative book for many of our board members, we've adopted these agreements as the core values for mentees and mentors. By encouraging our girls to follow these four agreements, we are confident that they will find their personal freedom and get closer to living an authentic life.
